Who Am I ?
I am a mother, partner, nurse-midwife, psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, and lifelong advocate for liberation-centered, holistic healthcare. My work is shaped by my lived experiences, professional journey, and commitment to creating spaces where people feel seen, respected, supported, and empowered to make decisions about their own bodies and lives.
My Approach to Care
As the founder of Rooted in Wellness, I bring together mental health, reproductive and contraceptive care, and perimenopause and menopause care through an approach grounded in reproductive justice, Black feminist thought, cultural humility, and community care. I center BIPOC and gender-expansive communities, recognizing that healing requires more than symptom management. It requires connection, autonomy, informed consent, and attention to the social systems that shape our health and well-being.
I believe healthcare should be collaborative, practical, evidence-informed, and rooted in relationship. My commitment is to offer care that connects rather than divides, supports rather than shames, and creates possibilities for people to reclaim their voices, choices, and well-being.
